Marco joined us from north of Prague in the Czech Republic in the summer of 2008. Marco is the total opposite of Shana in so many ways. Everyone told us that males are the calm ones in their house, not so with Marco! Marco does everything at two speeds; fast and faster. He is also our very vocal Berner and the head watch dog in the household, car or wherever we are. However, he is even more affectionate and needing of attention than Shana. He acts like a big, patient brother with puppies and is kind and gentle towards our young grandson.

Marco began his show career in Canada as a young pup, winning a Best Puppy in Group. At 20 months, Marco headed south to the USA earning 8 points, including 2 Majors, in one weekend. Marco finished his Canadian tilte before he was 2 and his American title before he was 3, with multiple Group placements.

Marco has sired one litter, via Chilled Semen in Alaska with Bear Mountain Kennel's “Secret”, SwissKiss Love Potion. There were 8 puppies, 4 males and 4 females. They were very uniform with symmetrical markings with medium white. The puppies are maturing into well-balanced dogs with their sire's long, straight and heavy coat. The female kept by the breeder is doing very well in the show ring. Purpose (Bear Mountain's Dirty Little Secret) took Best of Winners for a 5-point major her first show!

Marco also exceled in his tracking training. He has a natural nose, and loves the work. He starts to “talk” and “mumble” as soon as we get close to the park for tracking training.
